Capel announced that it saw favorable attendance at High Point Market this April with numbers that were on par with last year's spring market. Unveiling a variety of new designs paid off with steady sales throughout market.
"Our showroom visitors were eager for something new, and we were happy to offer exciting designs at great values across our entire program of rugs," said Allen Robertson, Capel's vice president of sales. "Capel's outdoor collections had an especially strong showing with seasonal appeal and exceptional value."
Capel saw success stories in almost every category, further illustrating the diversity of the company's designs.
Elegance and Inspiration
Several traditional and transitional collections did especially well for Capel during High Point. Known for great designs and exceptional quality, Capel brought its very best work to market for dealers to admire.
A standout among the classics, Capel's Velvet collection impressed attendees with a sheen and softness true to its namesake. Hand tufted in India from pure, 100% wool, Velvet is offered in an array of elegant designs with classic styling. Warm golden tones accent the colorways of pewter, coral, bluestone, oyster, caramel, tuscan red, gold finch and biscuit. An 8' x 11' rug may retail for $1,099.
Artistic renderings of graceful floral elements are captured in nature-inspired Elementals. Hand tufted in India with overtwisted wool and viscose blend yarns for a silky, variegated effect, Elementals is offered in the soft-hued patterns Bramble, Pavillion, Orchids, Bluebells and Walkstone (toasted almond or mesquite). An 8' x 11' rug may retail for $1,399.
Captivating Outdoor Designs
Opening the door to endless possibilities in outdoor decor, Capel announced the expansion of their COM (customer's own material) program for any bordered rug. The company will apply COM to any rug for a small fee to match any custom-designed space.
"Visitors were thrilled about our COM program," said Robertson. "Capel is really offering a unique and accessible service that appeals to design-savvy consumers."
Capel's Frascati collection illustrates the creativity that customers can express by applying their own fabric to any bordered rug.
Market visitors were impressed by Chateau, the company's first ever loop hooked indoor-outdoor rug, offering supreme softness and cushioning underfoot. Chateau features vintage arts and crafts styling in large-scale floral patterns which are both elegant and whimsical. The collection is available in Bouquet, Lily Pad and Floral Lace patterns and a variety of colors. Made from durable, 100% olefin, a 6' x 9' rug may retail for $399.
Another market favorite was the newest introduction from Capel Anywhere™, the Pool & Patio collection. These striking black and white rugs make a bold decorative statement in any room of the home or outdoor living area. In patterns ranging from subtle to glamorous, this varied collection will enhance any casual, contemporary or transitional theme. Machine woven in Egypt of 100% olefin yarns, a 7'10" x 10'10" rug may retail for $299.
Braided Innovations
New Capel Braids - American Originals™ met rave reviews with dealers. Showroom samples displayed the versatility of the American Originals™ shape story, showcasing braids that range from modern to traditional for every decorating taste.
The exotic Safari collection garnered the attention of dealers seeking the animal skin look. Capel's exclusive double chenille construction combines texture with a great hand. Creative use of an additional outside border adds a tailored finish. Made in the USA, these reversible rugs are available in the colorways zebra, giraffe and bengal. A 8' x 11' rectangular rug may retail for $799.
Songbird's lively variegated color brought braid loyalists back to their roots. Inspired by vintage tableware and linens, classic hues coordinate well with today's casual upholstery and leather. Made in the USA of a durable wool blend, this reversible braid is available in the colorways goldfinch, parakeet, blue jay and cardinal. A 8' x 11' concentric rug may retail for $799.
