Zenith Global Logistics announced that it is expanding its East Coast warehousing and distribution capacity by opening a new 204,000-sq.-ft., multi-tenant warehouse in Claremont, NC, to service customers that are facing fluctuating storage capacity needs to address changing economic conditions.

“We understand that many retailers are adjusting their required inventory more frequently during these tough times, and this facility was opened with that in mind,” explains Jack Hawn, President and CEO. “It allows retailers to start with a small footprint and grow over time as conditions change. This flexibility means our customers can inventory their best-selling, fast-turning items, with quick delivery to the dealer, thereby eliminating the need to warehouse an entire product line if they choose. The new Claremont warehouse will also serve as Zenith Global’s dedicated East Coast in-home delivery center and will also offer pick, pack and ship service for home accent products.”

Zenith Global Logistics selected Exel Direct earlier this year as its preferred home delivery provider and now provides in-home delivery with four distinct service levels throughout the 48 contiguous U.S. states. The in-home delivery service includes a newly developed proprietary Web-based rate quote system that gives retailers the exact, all-inclusive shipping and home delivery rate from the point of distribution to the consumer’s home as well as the estimated date of delivery.

Zenith Global Logistics is a total supply chain logistics provider specializing in international and domestic home furnishings warehousing, overseas transportation and domestic distribution, covering all of North America and the Caribbean. Zenith currently operates more than 4.5 million square feet of warehouse domestically, including facilities in Southern California, Dallas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Virginia. Future warehousing expansions include additional facilities in Seattle, Chicago, Orlando and Elizabethtown, N.J.
