Susan North Named Senior VP Creative Director For Schumacher

Susan North has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Creative Director of Schumacher, one of the leading purveyors of fabrics and wallcoverings to the design trade.  Schumacher President Gerald Puschel made the announcement saying that Ms. North, who has been with Schumacher for 13 years, has “consistently given Schumacher the kind of creative leadership needed to keep the company at the very top in a highly competitive field.”

Susan joined F. Schumacher & Co. in 1997 as the Director of Design for Greeff, one of Schumacher’s fabric and wallcovering lines.

In 2002, Susan was promoted to Vice-President, Design, Interior Design Group. In that role, she was responsible for directing the design staff for Schumacher, Greeff, and Decorators Walk and overseeing the development of fabrics and wallcovering for each brand.

In April 2007, the brands were consolidated and Susan was named Vice President, Design, Schumacher.

In her new role, Susan will oversee all creative aspects of the Schumacher fabric, wallcovering, and also furnishing design in addition to all new product development for the Schumacher brand. She will also be responsible for the creative direction of the brand and all aspects of brand image including visual merchandising.  

Susan earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Textile Design from Montclair State College in Montclair, New Jersey.
