Talented Artists Bring Art and Design to Huge, Untapped Ceiling Fan Market and Donate Percentage of Sales to Charities Fandango Furnishings, a unique “art furniture” studio, today announced its formation and introduction into the hand-painted furnishings and home décor market. Fandango will specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, hand-painted ceiling fans and accessories for the home. Fandango has innovated the idea of hand-painting ceiling fan blades with interesting and artistic designs. The studio calls these functional works of art, FanGoghsTM, and they are the first and only company in the home décor market to offer them commercially. “We discovered that a ceiling fan could not only be practical and functional, but beautiful art as well. We paint them in brilliant colors and eye-catching designs. We transform an otherwise ordinary home fixture into a fanciful work of art,” commented Fandango founder and artist, LynnToomey-DiBattista. “Art fans and home owners spend thousands of dollars on framed art, and although beautiful, it’s not functional. What we’re offering is the unusual and the unexpected. It’s fun, functional art, that’s also very affordable.” The transformation from basic ceiling fan to functional art is as simple as removing the existing blades and replacing them with a set of FanGoghs. If the customer doesn’t have a ceiling fan, they can purchase the entire fan from Fandango, including the blades, motor and mount. The unique hole design of the unpainted blades supplied by Fandango allows them to fit most standard ceiling fans. Fandango uses three types of FanArtTM techniques: hand-painted, fan-painted or screen-painted. Hand-painting entails hours of meticulous labor and exacting detail. Fan-painting is another Fandango innovation in which a unique painting method results in attractive, spiral designs. With the screen-painting technique, the design and color is applied by machine. “Depending upon the customer’s preference for art and design, and their budget, we have a FanGogh to suit them,” said Toomey-DiBattista. Fandango is entering the market with over 50 standard designs. Additionally, the studio offers hand-painted light switch covers and ceiling fan pulls to complement all of their designs. Small, hand-painted furnishings can also be custom ordered from the studio to match a ceiling fan and/or any room’s décor. “We haven’t seen anything like this in the market and the market is huge. Just about every home, office, hotel and restaurant has at least one ceiling fan. Everyone that sees them, loves them,” said Rado Marintchev, who founded the studio with Toomey-DiBattista. “There’s lots of painted furnishings out there, but a FanGogh is something no one has seen. When you put one up, it becomes the centerpiece of the room, especially when it’s color coordinated with other furnishings, linens or art.
