The High Point Market Authority announced that it will team up with a variety of expert speakers to present a series of three educational webinars exclusively for High Point Market Exhibitors. Series topics range from international business opportunities to improving public relations savvy and connecting with interior designers.
The first webinar, set for Wednesday March, 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. (EST) capitalizes on the High Point Market’s International Buyer Program (IBP) status. Aimed at Market exhibitors with an interest in learning more about the export process, the webcast—“Going Global: Navigating the Export Process in the Furniture Industry”—focuses on the ins-and-outs of exporting.
“With its network of offices across the U.S. and in more than 80 countries, the U.S. Commercial Service utilizes its global presence and international marketing expertise to help U.S. companies sell their products and services worldwide,” says Brian D. Casey, president and chief executive officer of the High Point Market Authority. “In this, the second webinar in our international business series, experts will provide the information exhibitors need to know in order to export their products worry-free, with insights on how to find markets with high export potential; financing options for sales and how to ensure all transactions are legally sound; potential pitfalls to avoid when exporting internationally; as well as how to make sure products leave the warehouse and arrive at their final destination safely. We will also highlight essential services available to companies interested in growing their global business at Spring Market.”
Speakers include Juanita Harthun, senior international trade specialist, Carolinas, U.S. Export Assistance Center; Nick Orsini, specialist from the U.S. Census Bureau; Kate Bishop, specialist from the Export/Import Bank (EXIM), Washington, D.C. location; Douglas Bell, specialist from the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and Jan Fields, specialist from the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA).

During this presentation, the High Point Market Authority marketing team will cover the most effective techniques for increasing online exposure among buyers, media and Market attendees. The team will provide an introduction to the High Point Market Online News Center, as well as services available via PR Newswire, the Market’s trusted communication partner. Available to High Point Market exhibitors at deeply discounted rates, custom packages of PR Newswire services range from press release distribution to a new, simple-to-use PR Newswire product known as an Exhibitor Information Kit.
“As part of this webinar, Jennifer Lee Hall, product manager, global trade show services, PR Newswire, will explain the benefits of Exhibitor Information Kits, including how to communicate marketing messages and product features, engage the audience and provide key company data,” describes Kimberley Wray, vice president of marketing at the High Point Market Authority. “Our presentation will also include specific examples of Exhibitor Information Kits, demonstrate how easy the process is to set up on your own and how to make changes or update your kit on the fly.” To register for this event, visit:
