On March 10, 2010 the Midwest Furniture Club announced that it will sponsor "Forum for the Future," a seminar featuring two speakers covering the dramatic changes to our industry in the past year. Forum for the Future will be held at the Stonegate Conference Center in Hoffman Estates on March 10th, 2010.
The seminar will feature Peter Tourtellot, Managing Director of Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos (ABTV). In September, 2009, ABTV published a report entitled “The American furniture Industry: What Will It Take to Survive?” which caught the imagination of the furniture community as it chronicled the challenges and changes the industry has faced over the last decade. Mr. Tourtellot will present the findings of the report and discuss the state of the furniture business in 2010.
After a business lunch, Leslie Carothers of The Kaleidescope Partnership and a contributor to FURNITURE WORLD Magazine and Furniture Today on-line, will demonstrate how consumer’s information gathering and decision making has changed dramatically and permanently due the revolution in social media. Ms Carothers presentation uses real time demonstration of the applications that are changing the way we connect with our customers.
The seminar is open to all members of the Midwest Furniture Club and their retail guests. If you are interested in attending, please contact the chapter President, Geoff Weed at 312 305 6421 or at gweed@ashleyfurniture.com
