Capel Rugs reported a a 70 percent increase in sales when compared to the last High Point market. The company saw an improvement in all categories, especially among its transitional and braided collections.
"We are very pleased to report such a dramatic increase in sales this market," said Capel Vice President of Sales, Allen Robertson. "We have worked hard to create collections that meet the changing needs and tastes of today's consumer, and this success shows how our hard work has paid off."
Capel's transitional and soft-contemporary introductions were favorites among buyers, who made the chic, nature-inspired Graphique collection the company's bestseller at market. Other favorites in those categories included the striking Floral Silhouette and subtle, yet glamorous Tinselle collection.
The company reported that sales of its domestically produced American Originals™ braided rugs were double that of typical market sales. Buyers responded to the huge variety of colors, shapes, sizes and materials this unique catagory of rugs offers.
New braids for market included the bright and comfortable Hampton rugs and the versatile Ridgefield collection. Capel also introduced the Songbird Nesters, durable and stylish braided baskets inspired by one of the company's most celebrated collections.
Capel noted that it also saw an enthusiastic response to its selection of one-of-a-kind braids and hand-knotted rugs. One of the highlights of the showroom were the unique American Originals™ rugs, which were designed and created by Capel's own North Carolina rug crafters.
The Capel Rugs showroom in High Point is open year-round and is located at Market Square, space 112.

Songbird Nesters
Capel Rugs is taking its world-class wool braids to the next level with its first offering of braided baskets. Songbird baskets are terrific coordinates to its wool blend Songbird area rug or stand alone as terrific braided accessories. These braided baskets, crafted in our own mills in North Carolina, are offered individually or sold in sets of three called Songbird Nesters. A set of three baskets may retail for $280.
Floral Silhouette
A strikingly graceful, sweeping floral pattern in glistening, high cut viscose wanders over a field of 100% pure wool for a textured effect. The low-cut loop, hand knotted ground is expertly woven by hand in an ancient Nepalese construction by mature artisans in India. These true works of art are heirlooms in the making. The Floral Silhouette collection is available in the colorways sauterne, onyx, robin's egg and champagne. A 5' x 8' rug may retail for $1,499.
Graphique
The high style and sophisticated designs of Graphique are created by Capel's weaving partners in India. Beautiful hand tufting and carving make these upscale patterns and colors a smashing addition to both casual and formal decor. Composed of a blend of pure wool and viscose, Graphique provides lasting service and durability. The collection is available in the unique patterns Ringlets, Hibiscus, Floral Step and Shadow Branch in a variety of colorways. A 5' x 8' rug may retail for $499.
Ridgefield
The latest in Capel Rugs' American Originals™ is Ridgefield, a versatile cotton chenille area rug with a wide striped border. This classic color palette - red, blue, green, black - looks great in bedrooms, kid's rooms, and coastal getaways. Crafted in our mills in North Carolina, we offer our reversible Ridgefield rug in standard oval, round and runner sizes, as well as other shapes, and made to measure custom sizes, too.
Hampton
The crisp basket weave look of Capel Rugs' new Hampton woven rug is a standout texture and is reminiscent of menswear-inspired furnishing fabrics.
