HW Home Honored with 2010 Western Retailer of the Year Award

Western Home Furnishings Association honored their 2010 Western Retailer of the Year, HW Home, Boulder, CO, Tuesday, May 4, during the Retailer of the Year Gala Celebration at the Grand Californian Resort and Spa.  

Surrounded by their friends, family and vendors, HW Home co-owners, Jim Hering and Ron Werner, accepted the Retailer of the Year Award in front of an audience of 250 industry peers. Mitchell Gold, chairman of Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, presented the award to Hering and Werner and reflected on the first time he met Hering and Werner and how their relationship and the HW Home business has progressed over the 12 years they have done business together. 

"We’re incredibly humbled and elated to be named Retailer of the Year. We are very honored and thrilled to be the recipient of this prestigious award," said Hering and Werner. 

Hering and Werner opened HW Home in 1999 in Boulder, CO. A year earlier, they had taken a trip to the area to help Ron’s sister design the interior of her new home and they both saw an opportunity to bring fashion-forward designs and styles to the area. Since opening day, Hering and Werner have been creating beautiful rooms in loyal customer homes in Colorado and around the world with high-end, urban eclectic home furnishings. Today, the little boutique store has grown into four showroom locations and a thriving eCommerce business with approximately 40 employees. 

The Western Retailer of the Year award is bestowed upon a home furnishings retailer that exemplifies exceptional store design, innovative advertising and brand marketing, unwavering commitment to community and the environment, outstanding operations and a continuing dedication to the home furnishings industry. Nominated and judged by a panel of industry peers, the Western Retailer of the Year Award is the home furnishings industry's highest honor.
