Hollandia International, manufacturer luxurious sleep systems, announced that it will open its new flagship store at 149 N. 3rd St. in the trendy Old City district in June. For the first time, consumers can visit Hollandia with or without their designer to sample their range of high-end sleep systems, daybeds, loungers and accessories.
A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, June 4. State Senator Larry Farnese and Avi Barssessat, Hollandia’s president and CEO will be the event’s special guest speakers. Refreshments will be served throughout the day, with a cocktail reception at
5 p.m. to coincide with Old City’s popular "First Friday" in which galleries and businesses are free and open to the public.
"We selected Philadelphia for our U.S. headquarters in part because of the city’s flair for design and fashion-forward sensibility," said Barssessat. "We are excited about our new home in Old City which not only allows us to serve our customers directly, but also contribute to a community that’s rich in culture and internationally diverse with its myriad art galleries, restaurants, events and nightlife."
Since 2006, the Israeli company had operated a showroom within the nearby Marketplace Design Center which was open to consumers who were accompanied by their designers.
Located in the most historic square mile of the United States, Old City meshes historic influence with modern lifestyles. The new Hollandia showroom will offer consumers a chance to browse, test out and experiment with its high-end sleep systems such as those with retractable flat-screen televisions and massage features built into the bed.
Hollandia shares the block with the trendy women’s boutique Third Street Habit, designer Matthew Izzo and Café Ole, an Israeli-owned restaurant.
The store will showcase Hollandia’s signature models including the Executive bed system ($20,000/Queen). It features a retractable flat-panel HDTV and Hollandia’s superior Vita Talalay Latex mattress, offering a split core which is activated by remote control to lift your head or feet so you can watch TV comfortably. With sleek, contemporary styling and over 200 colors and fabrics to choose from, the Executive works with every décor and lifestyle.
Their two-sided mattresses -- one side being firm and the other soft -- can be reversed to suit an individual’s personal preferences.
Platinum-Luxe™ bases ($6,000-$11,000) use the most advanced technology available and can be used with any Hollandia bed frame. These models include a Mobile Bed System that makes it effortless to move the system, a Total Safety System that stops the bed’s movement for safety purposes, Pneumatic Remote Control, Back sliding system, Flexible Shoulder Zone and Telescopic head support.
In addition to their Platinum-Luxe™ Advanced Sleep Systems, Hollandia manufactures custom-made Style Essentials such as their Felix daybed or Convertible ottoman that easily transforms into an extremely comfortable guest bed. The store will also showcase a range of fun and fashionable accessories such as Hollandia’s Kangaroo blankets, Butterfly pillows and temperature-regulating, machine-washable 3D pillows.
