The International Casual Furnishings Association (ICFA) will offer a webinar from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, to provide instructions for using Google SketchUp to design an outdoor living room.
Google SketchUp is a free software resource that can be used to create 3D models of anything a user wants to create. For example, it can be used to decorate a room, to design a product or a building, or to design a community. The SketchUp website (www.sketchup.google.com) includes a 3D warehouse that contains models people have created that other users can download at no cost.
The presenter for the July 27 ICFA webinar is Paul Nigon, who leads the western U.S. sales team for The Outdoor GreatRoom Company, a designer, manufacturer and retailer of pergolas, outdoor kitchens, grills, outdoor furniture, fireplaces, fire pits, lighting and heating products. With his extensive knowledge of outdoor products, Nigon created a library of SketchUp drawings that can be downloaded and used to design outdoor living spaces.
ICFA members may participate in the webinar at no cost. Non-members may join in for $95. Registration is available at www.icfanet.org. Or, email Rhonda Craven at rcraven@icfanet.org. PC-based participants in the webinar will need Windows XP/Vista 7. Mac users will need Mac OS X (10.4+).
