Continuing Theodore Alexander’s strategic corporate improvement objectives, the company is announced the appointment of Mr. Edward Carey as President of their Vietnam Operations. In this capacity, Carey will be responsible for all manufacturing including the wood, upholstery, and foundry plants, as well as supply chain functions, quality, and human resources. He has recently relocated to Ho Chi Minh City where the company is headquartered and owns over one million square feet of manufacturing space. Carey will report to Harvey Dondero, CEO.
Additionally, Antony Maitland Smith has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Foundry Operations and will be responsible for Theodore Alexander’s own foundry as well as management of the metal subcontractors. Maitland Smith will report to Carey.
Carey comes to Theodore Alexander from a successful 20-year career heading up manufacturing and operations at the Cebu, Philippines and Semerang, Indonesia manufacturing facilities for Maitland-Smith, Inc. Most recently he was the VP of Asian Operations for Flexsteel/DMI, a large US-based furniture company, and was based in Shenzhen, China. He and his wife Ann have two sons, Ashley, who lives in Sydney, Australia and Simon who resides in Cebu, Philippines.
