The IHFC building in High Point, NC announced that Classic Leather recently signed a long-term lease at the IHFC in the Design Center, space D1141.
Wholesale Interiors, a major mid-west furniture distributor, will also make its debut in October; the company signed a lease at the IHFC in space D845.
Classic Leather, a Hickory, NC company, is the oldest leather upholstery specialist in the U.S., according to its President and CEO, Tommy Shores. The company was founded in 1966 by Shores’ father, and continues to operate its own frame shop, cushioning fabrication, leather marking, cutting and sewing operation and upholstering. Many in their factory are second- and third-generation craftspeople. That American-made story resonates more and more in the consumer onsciousness and that has reflected on Classic Leather's business. Committing to High Point for the long-term demonstrates the important role that Market plays for Classic Leather in getting its story to the right people. "High Point continues to prove itself as the number one furniture market as far as Classic Leather and our customers are concerned," Shores said. "And the IHFC is the only place to be for us. So naturally we took the opportunity to extend our lease."
For Wholesale Interiors, High Point Market has long been a consideration. The company has not shown in High Point in the past, but in recent years it became clear that there was opportunity they were missing. Company founder Chuck Tanner made the decision to come to High Point to, "quite simply, expand our distribution. High Point continues to show itself as the preferred show for the buyers we want to see. And the IHFC, being at the center of it, seemed the ideal location for us."
Wholesale Interiors, headquartered in the Chicago area, was founded in 2002. The company supplies wholesale furniture and drop-ship furniture to furniture stores and the design trade. They also distribute commercial, restaurant, hotel and trade show furniture.
