ITA Inc. announced that it has introduced a new patented lift system that features a totally cordless construction.
The new Lite Touch™ system was developed in response to growing awareness of child safety and has been successfully tested by the Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC"). The testing group at CPSC evaluated Lite Touch, which incorporates a liner to raise and lower the shade in lieu of inner cords and uses a spring mechanism to replace operating cords.
Lite Touch prevents the potential child strangulation risk due to the elimination of both inner cords and operating cords and presents a safe roman shade design.
The Lite Touch system works on nearly every style roman shade; from "COM" to woven woods and fabric roman shades. Its streamlined design makes it easy to produce using standard production equipment. Lite Touch can be measured and installed as easily as any other window shade, either inside or outside the window frame.
ITA Managing Director Leonard Siegel said, "Lite Touch is the perfect solution to bring woven woods, roman shades, and woven grass shades into compliance with new safety regulations. Technically, it is the first new development in roman shade lift systems in 35 years." ITA intends to add Lite Touch to its’ own Caslan® Designer Shadings range of roman shades.
