Bayview Collection from Durham Furniture
Solid wood bedroom furniture manufacturer Durham Furniture announced that it will introduce its 16th collection at the upcoming High Point show; the Bayview Collection.
The collection is an updated take on traditional cottage style for today’s casual living. Bayview , they say, is at home in a variety of settings, whether it be seaside condominium or urban loft. Constructed of solid maple, the group is available in three beautiful finishes: Vintage Maple, Worn Linen and Antique Black.
"There are a number of unique and functional pieces that make Bayview both practical and beautiful, said Gord Dilworth, President and CEO. "Whatever the consumer lifestyle, a second home at the beach or primary residence in the city, Durham’s Bayview collection is equally at home."
These pieces include a door chest, utility cabinet and secretary chest. Two Beds, a Panel and a Cottage style, have unique bead board detailing on both the headboard and footboard which tie in with the styling of the doors and mirrors in this collection. A Cannonball Bed is being added to Durham Furniture’ Solid Choices Program and works very nicely with the Bayview Collection as well.
About Durham Furniture:
Yesterday… Way back in 1899 the Durham Furniture Company Limited, located in Durham, Ontario (a small town two hours northwest of Toronto) was created. The objective of the Durham citizens was to build a furniture factory to provide employment for its young men to keep them in town. They constructed a 3-story building with 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space and employed 32 workers handcrafting solid wood furniture.
Durham Furniture recently had the good fortune of acquiring a piece of that history. A Dresser and Mirror, circa 1899, will be displayed at Durham Furniture’s High Point Showroom located in the Atrium, Suite 224, 430 Main Street, High Point, North Carolina.
Today… 111 years later Durham Furniture is still located at the original site. Still handcrafting solid wood furniture, Durham Furniture’s production facility is now 175,000 sq. ft. and currently employs approximately 200 people. Recently relocated to Durham, to be nearer the factory is a 50,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center. In addition to the showroom in High Point, NC, the company also maintains a showroom at the International Centre in Toronto.
Durham Furniture, still handcrafting solid wood bedroom furniture using centuries-old techniques combined with today’s technology, manufacturing furniture that lasts generations. Right here and with pride in North America.
