The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) National Examiners Committee announced that it has bestowed a Chapter Medalist Award to Suzy Regitz, ASID, of Suzy's Interiors. The ASID Chapter Medalist Award is the highest award bestowed by ASID on professional members at the chapter level in recognition of outstanding service and significant contributions to their chapter, the society and the profession as a whole.
“We are deeply honored that Suzy has been selected as a medalist recipient; her continued dedication to our profession is commendable,” said Joan Kaufman, 2009-2010 ASID-IL chapter president. “Speaking on behalf of our Illinois chapter, we are extremely proud of Suzy. She is an outstanding leader and has served our chapter as a well-respected advocate for interior design registration and NCIDQ, and is well-known in the design community.”
The ASID National Examiners Committee reviewed and judged the nominations from chapter members across the country. The esteemed Chapter Medalist Award is granted based on outstanding service to the chapter and the profession of interior design, including community service; significant local, regional or national contributions to the interior design profession, including educational and research contributions; and continued contributions that have enriched the human experience including design innovation, environmental and/or sustainable design, universal design, and authoring articles that advance the interior design field.
ASID Illinois members gathered on September 16, 2010, in the Haworth showroom at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago as Kaufman presented Regitz with the Chapter Medalist Award. The award was given during the chapter’s annual membership meeting and service awards presentation.
“It is a privilege to be recognized for my work and service in the field of interior design. I’ve been practicing interior design for more than four decades; it’s my life’s passion,” said Regitz. “I’m grateful to my family, clients and peers who have been a major factor in my wonderful experiences thus far.”
