New Leda Exec Vice President George Sinclair

Marco L. Confalone, President and Chief Operating Officer of Leda Furniture has announced the appointment of George D. Sinclair to the newly created position of Executive Vice-President Sales and Marketing for Leda's residential furniture division. Leda is a family-owned furniture producer of high-end quality furniture operating in a 150,000 square foot high-tech facility located in Toronto. The 35-year-old company has been on a moderate growth cycle in recent years having relocated its factory three times in the past twenty years. "We are extremely excited about the opportunity to have George join the Leda team", said Mr. Confalone. "We have known him for over twenty years and regard him as a foremost authority concerning the North American furniture industry. We are planning a further expansion of our company and George brings the depth of knowledge and expertise required to manage the growth of our sales effort in Canada and export markets. "' Mr. Sinclair is known to many furniture retailers, suppliers and manufacturers throughout North America having managed the Ontario Furniture Manufacturers' Association for over two decades. He also managed two other trade associations including the Canadian Flexible Foam Manufacturers' Association and the Furniture Travelers' Association of Canada. He was an Elected Officer and Director of the Canadian Council of Furniture Manufacturers and is credited with the creation of The Consortium, an industry initiative dedicated to organizing and managing furniture shows. Following his retirement from the OFMA, Mr. Sinclair started his own management-consulting firm, G.D.Sinclair & Associates Inc. specializing in providing his clients with sales, marketing and business solutions. Prior to the OFMA, George held several senior management positions in both manufacturing and retailing in the Consumer Durables and Furnishings Industries. Leda has two fully accessorized showrooms, one at the Toronto factory and one in the International Home Furnishings Centre in High Point, North Carolina.
