Noted interior designer, Julie Browning Bova, announced that she has has created her first branded collection of timeless home furnishings for Stanford Furniture. Debuting at the High Point Furniture Market in April in the Stanford Furniture showroom located at 435 North Wrenn Street is Bova’s 37-piece collection of bedroom, dining, and upholstered furnishings. The “Julie Browning Bova Home Collection” mixes both classic and modern aesthetics while combining the unique features of antiques with modern fabrics, finishes, and detailing to create pieces that add wit, whimsy, and style.
“My new collection is classic, modern, bold, feminine, elegant, surprising, and timeless,” stated Bova. “It is inspired by favorite ‘collected treasures’ that I have acquired from my family, found in antique stores and in my travels.” She adds, “These pieces made a lasting impression on me and created an ‘I have to have IT moment.’ My furniture collection comes with a designer’s promise of great thought—thought of function, design, and placement in different types and styles of homes, incorporating subtle details to keep them fresh, timeless and transitional.”
Bova has been a highly respected interior design professional for more than twenty years. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, her company has worked with both commercial and residential clients from Michigan to Florida, offering quality design expertise to a range of projects, from luxury homes to metropolitan landmarks. She has also developed a loyal and enthusiastic social media following with her design blog (www.paisleyplaidandread.com), Twitter (@jbint), Facebook, and Tumblr (www.juliebrowningbova.tumblr.com) postings.
Stanford Furniture, located in Claremont, North Carolina, is a producer of fine home furnishings and custom upholstery. Bova’s collection is the third such designer-licensed group for the company. Bova will add her own signature touch to the 700 square-foot space within Stanford’s showroom where her collection will be featured, and will also be on-hand throughout Market to meet with attendees. She will be the honored guest at Stanford’s customer reception scheduled for Saturday, April 2.
Six vignettes will showcase a range of occasional and upholstered pieces, including sofas, chairs, ottomans, and a daybed. While some selections conjure classic images of old Hollywood, others add a modern splash of color, like a classic Italian chair refinished with crisp cotton in bright orange. A unique ottoman is covered in metallic leather, while whimsical wingbacks are wrapped in luxurious faux cashmere. Decorative details denote a subtle equestrian theme with the use of nail heads, leather tack, and metal bits.
“This collection abounds with the inimitable energy and passion of the designer and has something to offer everyone,” added Randy Short, president of Stanford Furniture. “Julie’s vision encompasses a myriad of styles and its eclectic nature is a perfect fit for our diverse design clientele.”
“Every room should tell a story and reflect the owner’s passion,” Bova continued. “It should not be too decorated, but look warm, layered and collected. My new collection is sensitive to that and places particular emphasis on pieces that are functional, elegant and special—treasures you would be proud to add to your home.”
The “Julie Browning Bova Home Collection” will be available to the design trade, high-end retailers, and to-the-trade showrooms in late summer/early fall of 2011. Bova is currently in discussions to further develop her brand with additional licensed home furnishings products.
