Surya announced they will continue their year long 35th Anniversary Celebration during the High Point market on Sunday, April 3rd. To commemorate the anniversary, Surya will be hosting parties at all eight of the market’s they participate in throughout the year including Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York, and High Point. The fourth of eight celebrations will be held in the IHFC Building, Ball Room A Sunday, April 3rd from 7-10 pm. The event will include a catered dinner, cocktails, and live music.
Surya was founded in 1976 in the northeastern village of Ugapur, India by Surya Tiwari. They set up their first office and warehouse in the US in 1986 in New York. They moved to Calhoun Georgia in 2001, where they currently base their corporate offices and warehouses. Surya’s mission at the time was to establish a company that would help support and provide income for his family and local villagers. From their humble beginnings, they have grown to one of the largest rug exporters in India and suppliers to the US and international markets.
