HAVERTY FURNITURE COMPANIES, INC., announced the promotions of B. Gregory Davis and Gary R. Niedermeyer.
Greg Davis was promoted to vice president, information technology development. He began his career as an application developer for an insurance company and then served as a programmer/analyst at Macy’s South. Mr. Davis joined Havertys in 1990 as a project leader and was promoted to director of development in 1995 and named assistant vice president, information systems development in 2004. He is responsible for all systems and applications used by Havertys and reports to Ed Clary, CIO and senior vice president, distribution. Mr. Davis is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in computer science.
Gary Niedermeyer was promoted to assistant vice president, supply chain. He has held a variety of positions in distribution operations since joining Havertys in 1987, including operations manager for the company’s primary distribution center in Braselton, Georgia. Mr. Niedermeyer began working with the company’s newly formed supply chain team in 2003 and was named director of inventory management/forecasting in 2007 and director of supply chain in 2009. He is responsible for all inventory flow and logistics for Havertys and reports to Scott Miles, vice president, stores and development. Mr. Niedermeyer is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in business administration and a minor in accounting.
