W.A.C. Lighting Appoints Richard Kurtz President

W.A.C. Lighting Founder Tony Wang has announced that Richard Kurtz has been appointed President of the firm. Mr. Wang will remain active in the business as he retains the titles of Chairman and CEO. W.A.C. Lighting is a leading manufacturer and designer of track, recessed, under-cabinet lighting and Monorail Lighting.
Kurtz, who previously served as Vice President of Operations since last Spring, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, including Research and Development, Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Distribution, and Production. The firm, headquartered in Garden City, NY, retains west coast office and warehousing operations in City of Industry, California, and expansive manufacturing and office facilities in China.
Most recently, Mr. Kurtz has played an instrumental role in creating a strategic alliance between W.A.C. Lighting and Fairfield, NJ-based Amerlux Lighting Systems, to share marketing, product development, manufacturing and sourcing. The two firms plan on launching several co-developed product lines later this year.

Mr. Kurtz has been in the lighting industry for over 20 years, his career includes 16 years as Senior Vice President of Operations for Lightolier of The Genlyte Group. Most recently, he held the position of Vice President for the JJI Group, President of Stull Technologies, and served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Stiffel company.
