Newest Asian show promises a focus on fresh trends
in a more relaxed buying environment.
A brand new furniture show in Malaysia is set to connect manufacturers with international visitors as they make the circuit of other Asian furniture shows in September this year.
The International Furniture Market (IFM) will take place from 6 to 10 September 2011, and is expected to feature 100 to 150 exhibitors in an area of about 270,000 square feet. Already nearly half of the space has been booked, with exhibitors from Malaysia and elsewhere in Asia, including China, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Singapore.
“More than just another ordinary furniture show, the event will be a spectacular showcase of the industry’s latest trends and premium product offerings.”
Mr. Joseph Goh, CEO of trade show promoter, Promodex Exposition Consortium, explained that rather than a plethora of all and sundry, IFM allows for the concentration of premium products, all under one roof. It will also feature a wider spread of products. In addition to lounge, dining, bedroom and kitchen furniture, there will also be youth and hospitality furniture, furnishings and accessories.
The organizers have carefully planned the dates of the event to complement other mega shows in the region. Buyers who are already in Asia to attend shows such as Furniture China in Shanghai from 14 to 17 September will find the dates of IFM very convenient. Holding the show in September helps to ease the congestion in the calendar during the March period. It is also perfectly timed for buyers who are planning ahead and developing their product lines for the coming year.
A less hectic schedule in a more relaxed environment
IFM will provide a more relaxed atmosphere so that both exhibitors and buyers can meet, hold discussions and forge stronger relationships. Held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), one of the largest and most versatile exhibition venues in Asia, IFM allows visitors to enjoy the show at their own pace. While situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Kuala Lumpur, MAEPS is conveniently located just minutes away from major highways and easily accessible from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and hotels. For the added convenience of visitors, IFM will provide a host of amenities including complimentary shuttle services, immigration express lane, official hotels, buyers’ business lounge and dinner night.
The organizers say that everyone who attends this inaugural event can expect to have a good, enjoyable and productive time. Find out more about IFM at www.ifm.net.my
