Peter Lawrence Woodworkers and Art by Jage announced that it recently opened a new joint showroom at 703 Kent Road (Route 7) in Gaylordsville, CT. The husband-and-wife duo, Peter Scalera and Jill Caprio-Scalera, owners of the two companies, won a “Best-in-Show” award at last year’s Fine Furnishings and Fine Craft Show in Providence, RI. The new showroom, simply titled Peter Lawrence, includes approximately 500 square feet in a newly remodeled contemporary space, which has a gallery atmosphere.
“I’m excited to finally have a showroom where people can come to see our work,” said Peter Scalera, owner of Peter Lawrence Woodworkers. His company offers custom-designed and hand-crafted furniture which is constructed using all natural, sustainably harvested wood. He has built retail spaces, board rooms, executive suites, bank and residential interiors, and restaurants. Recently, he designed and produced a live-edge coffee bar and coffee table for Eva Scrivo’s Salon in New York City. One of his upcoming projects will involve the fabrication of furniture for Eva Scrivo’s newest salon on Madison Avenue. In addition to the Northeast, Peter Lawrence Woodworkers also has clients in Florida, Las Vegas, and California.
Art by Jage, meanwhile, offers abstract art and themed portraits, using acrylic and fabric on a variety of palettes, including recycled materials. Jill’s work hangs on the walls of homes of friends, family, and clients in several states across the U.S. Her work has also been displayed in several art shows and has been used to decorate model units in New York City.
The hours of the new showroom will be noon to 5 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or by appointment. There will be an opening reception to meet the artists on Sunday, June 26th from 3 pm to 6 pm.
