JoAnn Miller-Marshall has been named executive vice president of AMC Tradeshows in an advancement bringing all AmericasMart home, gift and apparel and LIGHTFAIR International sales under her direction, according to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating officer of AmericasMart Atlanta and its AMC, Inc. parent entity.
Miller’s promotion follows a19-year AMC tenure during which the AmericasMart temporaries have grown exponentially under her leadership, notably through the addition of signature categories and collections and the expansion of a large and growing exhibitor base now occupying all exhibit halls across the AmericasMart campus.
“JoAnn has grown our tradeshow business nationally and globally—not only in sheer numbers of exhibitors and booths but in an equally important long list of innovations, including new categories, new programs and new ways of serving our customers,” notes Portman. “This advancement affirms her incredible gifts and talents and signals continuing growth for our tradeshows business,” Portman adds.
Among Miller’s most important and celebrated achievements are the AmericasMart HIGH DESIGN juried collection, the Collegiate Licensed Products Pavilion, the Body & Soul, Boutique and Handmade collections and, most recently, Birding & Backyard Nature and the spectacular HD HOME category.
Miller’s appointment as tradeshows executive vice president will help further unify all AMC tradeshows sales under a single direction for enhanced customer service and convenience across all business lines. The change additionally supports the growing link between gift, home and apparel, as evidenced in the new alignment of AmericasMart’s fall home, gift, gourmet and apparel markets, with apparel running October 13—17 and home/gift/gourmet staged October 14—16.
