The Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library honored Carl Vuncannon with the dedication of the Vuncannon Room on October 20, 2011 during the High Point Market. “Carl’s service and dedication to the Furniture Library deserves to be recognized in a way that is befitting to his character. I can’t think of a more appropriate way than naming our beautiful, new meeting room after him,” stated Karla Webb, Curator.
Carl served as Curator at The Furniture Library for 25 years and his leadership earned him the respect of the furniture industry.
The Vuncannon Room is a meeting room that will be used by colleges and universities, furniture industry organizations and businesses, as well as scholars and members of the design and art community. “The most gratifying aspect of my employment at The Furniture Library was working with the colleges and students. To know that I will continue to be associated with students, through the use of the new meeting room, is very rewarding,” says Carl Vuncannon.
The Library's first and second floors have been completely renovated, and with the addition of the Vuncannon Room, the Library not only offers a world-class research facility but a place where the industry and those passionate about furniture and design can unite for meetings, conferences, design competitions and seminars.
