Hästens Beds, with a reputation for making luxurious all-natural beds, announced that it has expanded its presence in New York with the opening of their premiere flagship store. Located in the just steps away from Union Square in the Flatiron District at 876 Broadway (between 18th
and 19th Streets.
The new store will play an important role in growing Hästens Beds presence and brand image in the U.S. and is the largest retail footprint of any Hästens store in the U.S. With more than 3,200 sq feet the store will showcase the complete line of Hästens handcrafted beds including the Scandinavian- style frame beds, classic continental beds, children’s and crib mattresses and the world’s most bespoke bed, the Vividus. Additionally, the Hästens store will also sell an assortment of accessories, including Hästens specialty down pillows and duvets, luxurious linens, headboards, and their signature blue and white check travel pillows and other accessories.
The store is modeled from a new corporate vision incorporating signature Scandinavian elements and was designed by Hästens’ own design team. It is one of only two corporately owned stores here in the U.S. and provides Hästens with another venue to reach an entirely new audience -- one that does not yet know the benefits of obtaining a good night’s sleep.
Coinciding with the launch of the new store is the introduction of Hästens Best Sleep campaign. The campaign is designed to bring awareness about the importance of sleep and the benefits received when sleeping on a Hästens Bed. The campaign will contain tips on obtaining a good night’s sleep and will communicate that sleeping well helps you live longer, be healthier and perform better, among other benefits.
“In the world’s most dynamic and energizing city, sleep is truly one of the most valuable commodities,” said Janet Stein, Hästens U.S. Country Manager. “We believe that everyone should sleep as well as we do and are excited to be opening our new flagship store in the successful retail community of the Flatiron District. Our mission is to provide the residents of New York with the very best option to sleep well on hand-made all natural beds,” added Stein.
In an industry known for its focus on cost, Hästens keeps its focus on quality, utilizing craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation. The vision of giving the world the very best bed allows for no shortcuts. Since 1852 the family-run company, based in Köping, Sweden has been producing all-natural beds by hand, using only natural filling materials: horsehair, cotton, linen, wool and flax.
All Hästens beds are free of all harmful chemicals and other materials that could in any way be detrimental to either the human body or the environment. The fire retardant used for the Hästens beds is a saline-based solution rather than the commonly used chemicals used by other companies. Additionally, they are completely free of any foam, rubber or latex, materials that often age, become rigid and eventually crumble. The all-natural ingredients of Hästens beds maintain ventilation, allowing the beds and mattresses to breathe, creating the perfect environment for a restful nights sleep. The beds are visually distinctive for the checked cotton that covers each and every one—available in the iconic Hästens Blue Check and a variety of other hues.
