AFMA Recognizes Klaussner's Bryant As Forecaster Of The Year

The Finance Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association has named Dave Bryant of Klaussner Furniture Industries in Asheboro, N.C., as this year’s Forecaster of the Year. Bryant, chief financial officer at Klaussner and a member of the executive committee of AFMA’s Finance Division, was presented with the award at AFMA’s Economic Outlook Conference in Charlotte, N.C., today. The annual award is given to recognize the forecaster who made the most accurate prediction at the previous year’s conference. Items that contest entrants forecast include changes in real GDP, housing starts, consumer price inflation and the prime interest rate average. Factors specific to the furniture industry that participants forecast are consumer furniture demand and furniture shipments.
