Enhancements To ProphetLine for Windows 5.0 Reduces POS Checkout Time While Upgrading Credit Card Security and Reporting

ProphetLine today announced Service Release 1 for its ProphetLine for Windows 5.0, an integrated, modular point-of-sale and accounting solutions for all Microsoft Windows retailing environments. This upgrade provides faster operation, added credit card security, expanded reporting and simplified operation at the point-of-sale. "The new enhancements to ProphetLine for Windows 5.0 will make this truly scaleable system even more valuable to specialty retailers whether it's a chain of hundreds of networked locations or a single "mom and pop" store, notes Robert Brown, President of ProphetLine. He adds, "The service 1 Release expands reporting data while simplifying and speeding up operations at the point-of-sale". Credit Card Authorization Time Reduced-- The added option of Atomic Authorizer for electronic credit card authorization keeps the phone line open for several seconds after each credit card is verified. If another terminal attempts to verify a credit card while the line is open, dialing and connecting the modems is not required. Tests of this feature reduced authorization time significantly. Generate Gift Certificates- The software upgrade provides the option of accepting Gift Certificates, Travelers Checks, Money Orders, and Returns/Trade-ins as full tender or split tender. Gift Certificates also can be created for sale to customers at the register. End of Month (EOMJ Reporting Upgraded-- An EOM command button has been added to the Inventory Stock Ledger screen since this report must know the beginning inventory by month. This report, which can be printed MTD or YTD and can be detailed by inventory item, class or department, should be run when the store closes on the last day of the month or before it opens on the first day of the month. The ten column report also includes: costs and retail value of beginning inventory, sales, markdowns and markups, and end inventory cost and retail value.
