Powell Names Slack Senior Director of Merchandising & Marketing

The Powell Company, an importer of accent, bedroom and casual dining furniture has named Sean Slack to the newly created position of Senior Director of Merchandising and Marketing for their Generations for the 21st Century division. Slack joins Powell after a nine-year stint at The Lane Company, where he was most recently Vice President of Sales. His background includes extensive retail experience having worked for several department stores including Maison Blanche department store where he was Vice President of the home store division, prior to its sale to Mercantile Stores. In his new position, Slack will focus on the expansion of the Generations for the 21st Century product line and marketing programs to make it a more complete package for retailers. The division, originally started in 1998, targets a higher price point and larger scale product than the traditional Powell product and has grown rapidly over the last three years.
