Sealy, Inc., announced that it will provide beds for hundreds of children in need of a good night's rest. Sealy will also send a group of students from Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, NC to Honduras to deliver the beds and mattresses. As part of the SOFTLY International "Bed For Every Child" project, Sealy, Inc., the largest bedding manufacturer in North America, will fund the construction of 200 beds in Honduras. Six students and two teachers from Wesleyan Christian Academy will work with a team from SOFTLY International to deliver the beds to children in need. Beds will be distributed to an AIDS facility for infants, a street shelter and individual families within a community known as Nueva Esperanza, which means "new hope." "Sealy stands firm in its belief that every child deserves a good bed and a good night's rest to improve his (or her) quality of life," says Ron Jones, Chairman/CEO of Sealy, Inc. "We are extremely proud to be working with SOFTLY, an international organization that provides beds to children who are in great need of a safe, healthy place to sleep. Many of the families in Honduras are still living in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch. This mission will not only provide beds to the children of a struggling community, but it will provide hope to residents as they continue the struggle to rebuild their lives." Students and faculty from Wesleyan Christian Academy traveling to Honduras include Pastor Paul Coates, Kevin Cox, Jonas Calsbeek, James Combs, Matthew Lee Jones, Steven Ryan Barthulomu, William Bennett and Richard Kenny. They group departed on Monday, July 31 for the week-long mission trip. "It is an important breakthrough for SOFTLY to have such an outstanding company as Sealy working with us on the largest mission we have ever planned," says Eloise Vincent, Director and Founder of SOFTLY. "Sealy has inspired me in my work, because they really recognize the importance of helping those in need. The beds the children receive will provide so much more than a place to sleep. They will greatly improve the overall health of the children and their hope for their families. Sealy's participation is this project gives real meaning to our motto, 'Together we can make a difference.'"
