Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association Elects New Directors

The Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association elected new members to its board of directors at its annual meeting in Chicago. Directors serving three-year terms are Mark Gorr of Tropitone Furniture Co. in Irvine, Calif.; and Charles Vernon of Gloster Furniture Co. in South Boston, Va. Serving a two-year term is Oliver Ma of Treasure Garden in Baldwin Park, Calif. Officers on the SCFMA board are serving the second year of their two-year term. They are Gary McCray of Lane/Venture in Conover, president; Dale Boles of Shaw Designs/Samsonite in Oxnard, Calif., first vice president; Dudley Flanders of Lloyd Flanders in Fort Smith, Ark., second vice president; and Henry Vanderminden IV of Telescope Casual Furniture in Granville, N.Y., chairman. The Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association and the American Furniture Manufacturers Association are headquartered in High Point, N. C. - the furniture capital of the world - and together represent more than 350 leading US. furniture manufacturers. About 80 of those manufacturers produce summer and casual products.
