AFMA Manufacturing Division Elects New Officers

The Manufacturing Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association elected 2001-2002 officers at its annual meeting in Hilton Head Island, S.C. John E. (Jeb) Bassett III, vice president of wood manufacturing for Bassett Furniture Inds., Bassett, Va., was elected president. Additional officers are Reggie Propst, director of quality assurance and manufacturing services at Kincaid Furniture, Hudson, N.C., first vice president; and Taylor Vaughan, senior executive vice president at Vaughan Furniture Co., Galax, Va., second vice president. Dave Dyer, vice president of upholstery manufacturing at Henredon Furniture Inds. in High Point, moves to chairman of the board. The division also elected new members to its Board of Directors. Elected to serve threeyear terms were Wade Austin, plant manager at Kroehler Furniture, Conover, N.C.; Mike DeHart, vice president/plant manager at V-B Williams/Vaughan Furniture, Sumter, S.C.; Vernon Galloway, vice president of manufacturing at Carter Furniture of Salisbury, Salisbury, N.C.; Rick Rosbottom, vice president of manufacturing/distribution for DMI Furniture, Huntingburg, Ind.; and Andy Santulli, director of manufacturing services and technologies for LifeStyle Furnishings International, High Point. The American Furniture Manufacturers Association is headquartered in High Point, N. C - the furniture capital of the world - and represents more than 350 leading U. S furniture manufacturers. These manufacturers represent a total of 150, 000 employees and more than 75 percent of U.S. furniture shipments.
