Mary Kinney Named New Director of The Design Studio of Gabberts

The Design Studio of Gabberts has named industry veteran Mary Kinney as its new director. "We are very fortunate to have someone with Mary's first-class talent and experience leading our design studio," said Jim Gabbert, chairman and chief executive officer, Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio. Kinney will be responsible for all studio operations, including strategic planning, designer recruitment and residential and corporate client development. Kinney was director of development for Minneapolis-based William Beson Interior Design, Ltd., a full-service interior design firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects. She also served as general manager of the Minneapolis showrooms of fine furniture-maker Baker Knapp & Tubbs and textile company F. Schumacher & Co. Kinney received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1987. She is a member of the International Furnishings & Design Association and the American Society of Interior Designers. She serves as the design industry advisory board member for Dakota County Technical College and as a design industry advisor for International Market Square. She is a resident of Minneapolis.
