La-Z-Boy Appoints New Nesoho Plant Leader And Director Of Manufacturing

La-Z-Boy, the nation’s leading manufacturer of upholstered furniture, recently announced the promotions of John Kellogg and Patrick McDonnell. Kellogg has been named vice president and plant manager of the Neosho, Mo. manufacturing plant, and McDonnell will fill the position of director of manufacturing services for La-Z-Boy Residential. Both executives will report directly to Larry Woolace, vice president of manufacturing for La-Z-Boy Residential. John Kellogg – Vice President and Plant Manager, Neosho: Promoted to vice president and plant manager of the Neosho location from his previous position as general manager of the La-Z-Boy plant in Lincolnton, N.C., Kellogg is now responsible for managing all areas of the Neosho plant and supply centers, which together employ 1,300 people. "John’s success at the Lincolnton plant has demonstrated that he has the experience and leadership skills necessary to enable the Neosho operation to continue to thrive," said Woolace. "His knowledge of the furniture industry and La-Z-Boy, coupled with his strong people skills, make John a perfect fit for one of our largest plants." Kellogg has nearly forty years of furniture manufacturing experience. He joined La-Z-Boy in 1994 and served as general manager of La-Z-Boy Contract/Rose Johnson in Grand Rapids, Mich. before being named the general manager of the Lincolnton plant. Prior to that, Kellogg worked for Kandu Industries, a manufacturer of domestic and governmental picture frames, where he was plant manager and director of operations. Kellogg began his career with 28 years at Stow & Davis Furniture Company, where he worked in a number of positions, beginning in final furniture assembly and ending as a plant manager. Kellogg earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Aquinas College, and has served as a member of the National Guard and the Lincolnton Rotary Club, and was on the Board of Directors of the Lincoln County United Way. He recently relocated to Neosho with his wife, Penny. Kellogg has four adult children, Debbie, Jim, Chad and Kevin, and four grandchildren. Patrick McDonnell – Director of Manufacturing Services for La-Z-Boy Residential: McDonnell has been promoted from his position as an industrial engineer with La-Z-Boy Canada Limited to the director of manufacturing services for La-Z-Boy Residential. In his new position, McDonnell will direct the activities of the manufacturing and industrial engineering departments and analyze engineering functions. "Patrick has been a vital part of the La-Z-Boy team for more than 25 years and is the perfect choice to lead our manufacturing efforts," said Woolace. "We are confident that manufacturing services will perform well under his guidance." McDonnell began his career with La-Z-Boy in 1975. While with the company, he has served as an upholsterer, senior supervisor and time study analyst, all at the La-Z-Boy Canada Limited facility based in Waterloo, Ontario. McDonnell holds a certificate in advanced industrial engineering from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario. He and his wife, Judy, have three adult children.
