Saiarts is a combination of unrivalled heritage and inherent skill with ingenuity and emotional appeal, the finest examples of the union of the raw beauty of nature and the refined skills of mankind.
www.saiarts.com, devised in association with leading anthropologists and ethnographers, is an insightful and ingenious Internet link to a host of renowned indigenous craft workshops. www.saiarts.com offers exclusive access to the latest creations from the great workshops. An opportunity to commission individual and exquisite handcrafted interior art by the most technically skilled craftsmen alive.
Saiarts strives to put the aesthetics back into interior design giving the uncompromising, refined and modern client the opportunity to select exquisite handcrafted objects from the great traditional workshops. Saiarts empowers the client access to bypass the high street retailers of the mass-produced and factory made, and to individually customise their interior environment by commissioning competitively priced handmade interior art from the source.
www.saiarts.com is a conceptual cultural shopping experience, allowing the consumer to explore not only the history of the great craft heritages but also the contemporary workshops of the leading masters in each discipline. The client simply selects an object from the collection, the master and his apprentices will craft the piece and Saiarts will deliver it to your doorstep upon completion.
The client benefits from an individually commissioned piece of art created by the leading master in the tradition, a custom made financial, cultural and ethical investment. Saiarts supports the regeneration of traditional craft heritages. A percentage of the profit is invested into developing an information network, which identifies and catalogues Europe's most valuable and significant craft traditions in order to sustain their communities and traditions for future generations.
For the spring and summer season 2000 Saiarts highlights a selection of the great craft traditions using Alabaster, Ceramics, Glass, Marble and Wood and displays the latest collections of some of the great living craft masters in each tradition including:
Pino Signoretto is leading Murano glass blowers. He began his apprenticeship in a glass workshop at the age of eleven, now over forty years ago. He has developed his skills through working with this century's great masters of Murano glass including Alfredo Barbini, Livio Seguso and Ermanno Nason. Pino Signoretto has been exhibited globally and his works have been commissioned by a host of disparate clients, from the Japanese imperial court, to major contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons and Mark Quinn.
The Ceramica Gatti Art Workshop was founded by the maestro Riccardo Gatti of Faenza, one of the greatest ceramists in Italy in the first half of the twentieth Century. Now in the hands of his nephew and pupil, Dante Servadei, who, together with his son Davide, have continued the great family tradition, working with international artists who have included: Ugo Nespolo, Enrico Baj, Alberto Burri, Arman and Tommaso Cascella maintaining the excellent reputation that surrounds the oldest workshop in Faenza.
