Lookandfeel new media, an interactive communications company, today announced the launch of a website for Oggi Modern Furniture. The e-commerce site, found at www.oggimodfurn.com employs innovative, eye-catching design and the latest in Macromedia's Flash technology.
Oggi Modern Furniture is a 13-year-old furniture retailer based in downtown Kansas City, Mo., specializing in world class, trend-setting furniture for the home and office. "The website is an annex, not a replacement, of our bricks-and-mortar store. The addition of the site to our retail operations allows us another means of communicating with our customers in the Kansas City area and across the country," said Guy Merola, Oggi owner and founder.
"Oggi," which means "today" in Italian, caters to the discriminating furniture consumer who is looking for what is modern and contemporary. The retail store occupies four floors of an historic 1909 building renovated by Merola. Like the historic store itself, the website features four "floors" of unique furniture. The floors offer upholstery, office furniture, bedroom furnishings and home accessories, respectively.
Oggi carries furnishings that reflect the cutting-edge in decorating. The site, designed by the lookandfeel new media team, employs the latest in web design technology.
Using Macromedia's Flash Technology, lookandfeel was able to create a wide range of animation and special effects within the site. "We set out to build a website with a design that was in keeping with Oggi's brand image and unique character of the store and its merchandise," said Mark Logan, managing partner, lookandfeel new media.
Because Merola feels that nothing takes the place of face to face interaction in good customer service, he is part of the site. His face is featured on each item page.
