Natuzzi Announces a New Employment Plan

Leather furniture producer Industrie Natuzzi presented their employment plan for 2002. The search for 400 new collaborators has now begun, of which 340 are required in the manufacturing sector, qualified as leather cutters, sewers and upholsterers, for the factories in Santeramo, Altamura and Acquaviva in the province of Bari, Ginosa and Laterza (near Taranto) and Matera. Personnel reinforcement is also planned in other areas of the company, such as Product Research & Development, Marketing, Sales and Services. Applicants for positions in these sectors must be professionals with consolidated experience in one of the following roles: professional area of Sales and Marketing, Country Manager for Italy and abroad, Visual Merchandiser, Buyers, foreign language Correspondent (knowledge of at least two languages, of which: English, French, Spanish, German, Danish, Chinese, Japanese), Designers, Interior Decorators, Product Managers, Colorists, Operations Specialists (Logistics, Manufacturing and Quality). For all these positions English is an important requirement, and knowledge of office automation systems is fundamental. The new employees are linked to an overall investment plan, aimed at further reinforcing the Natuzzi Group's presence in the furniture manufacturing district of Apulia and Basilicata. Production has just begun in the Laterza plant, in the province of Taranto, where full capacity will reach a total of 200 people. The employment plan moves in step with the growth of the Group's turnover, which at September 30, 2001 reached 1,140 billion lire with a growth of 19.8% with respect to the same period in 2000. In October 2001 the Group's capacity was 4,487 collaborators, with an increase of 778 new staff employed, 594 of which in Italy. To make insertion easier for unqualified personnel and young people just starting out in the working world, the Natuzzi Professional Training School is active. Over the last twelve months 550 people attended training courses with a 70% employment rate. The tuition, both theoretical and practical, is aimed at qualifying future leather cutters, sewers and assemblers, but also passing down to them the company culture, in order to understand market dynamics and realize products with the quality that consumers expect.
