AFMA Suppliers Division Honors Wickstrom

Wayne Wickstrom, who served Leggett & Platt in Carthage, Mo., for more than 27 years, has been honored by the Suppliers Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association with its 2001 Distinguished Service Award. The award is given annually to a person who has proven to be a valuable asset to the Suppliers Division in its efforts to enhance its relationship with the furniture industry. This person not only makes an impact in AFMA affairs but also is a respected and influential member of his or her community. Wickstrom, who worked for Leggett & Platt from 1972 to 1999, was recognized as having "the ability to understand and appreciate the complex problems of the industry and the willingness and knowledge to serve in solving those problems." Wickstrom has long been active in AFMA and other industry associations and has served on the AFMA Suppliers Division board of directors and as president of the American Furniture Hall of Fame. He currently operates a La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries store in Springfield, Mo.
