To kick off Winter Showtime 2004, a panel of four industry experts will discuss the challenges of buying and selling in today’s market at the ITMA Roundtable Jan. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Suites at Market Square, Level One, Sales Office. Showtime runs Jan. 5 – 8. The roundtable, which is hosted by the International Textile Market Association (ITMA), has become an increasingly popular and now traditional pre-show event. The topic of the roundtable will be “Global Marketing: The True Cost of Doing Business in the New World Economy.” The panel members will be Amy Bell, executive vice president of Ashford Court; Sharon Bosworth, vice president of upholstery design at Thomasville Furniture; Carol Gee, global director of consumer brands at Invista; and Larry Liebenow, president, CEO and director at Quaker Fabric Corporation. Carole Sloan, founding editor-in-chief of Home Textiles Today and senior editor of Furniture Today, will moderate the roundtable. “These roundtables have proven to be invaluable for opening up avenues of discussion and problem-solving for attendees,” said Catherine Morsell, ITMA director. “The textile industry faces many challenges with the economy, and we encourage Showtime attendees to participate in this timely roundtable to learn more about managing today’s global market.” The roundtable is free and open to all Showtime attendees. Light refreshments will be served, and panel members will be available after the discussion to answer additional questions. The ITMA Roundtable was initiated in 2002 by the ITMA Board to encourage discussion and brainstorming among experts and attendees on issues related to the textile industry. For more information about the roundtable, call Jack Eger, roundtable coordinator, at 610-941-1212 or the ITMA office at 336-885-6842.
