Sweet Homebuilders has signed a contract which makes Resort Interiors the interior design firm for all of Sweet Homebuilder Model Homes. Resort Interiors’ first project for Sweet Homebuilders will be the new $1,850,000 model at The Preserve at Sandestin. Designer Addie Clayton of Resort Interiors has been named project manager for the Sweet Homebuilders’ model slated to open August 21, 2003. Resort Interiors will play an extensive roll in the interior design of the homes, reviewing plans and making suggestions that will enhance the interior design of the homes. Buyers of the Sweet Homebuilders model will have the choice to buy the models complete with Resort Interior’s designer furnishings. “We are excited about this partnership with Sweet Homebuilders,” says Julie Kovach, vice-president of Resort Interiors. “Sweet Homebuilders is a great match for us. They provide award-winning home design and construction in each of their homes, and Resort Interiors offers award-winning interior design with top name brands in home furnishings including Henredon, Thomasville, Century, Lexington and others for these homebuyers.” Maurice Sweet, president of Sweet Homebuilders says, “Our welcoming Resort Interiors to the Sweet Homebuilders team is an extension of our company’s goal to provide the highest quality product on the market to our clients. We are constantly researching new and innovative building products and services to provide our homeowners the latest available in materials and equipment. Their award-winning interior design at Resort Interiors is a natural for us.” Addy Clayton of Resort Interiors and the project designer for the Preserve Home, says, “Sweet Homebuilders’ model home is a Tuscan style villa which looks as if it has been transported straight from Florence, Italy. The Tuscan influence can be seen in the magnificent garden with its stone fountain, located in the entrance of the home and in the homes open and airy feel with doors that open onto the gardens and the outdoors.” Clayton will enhance the Tuscan style, through the use of complimentary furnishings that in her words are “not only breathtaking to look at, but truly comfortable and functional.” Clayton will use furnishings from Thomasville and Drexel Heritage in the villa. She says her favorite room opens off of the villa’s large gathering room. By opening all of the glass doors of the room, which stack back against the wall, the room becomes an open and airy entertainment area with ease of access to the outdoor grill and bar area. The room is decorated with furnishings that can weather the elements but are still as comfortable as those of an indoor living area. In the dining room, Clayton is placing a rectangular wooden plank-top table with an iron base under a wrought iron chandelier with very simple lines. Other rooms showing the Tuscan influence include the foyer with its large, round, stone-topped entry table to be perfectly graced by a beautiful, fresh flower arrangement. The master bedroom will feature the Villa Santina group from Drexel Heritage. “This is a fabulous, mid-tone group with a leather inset in the headboard,” says Clayton. “The large bedside chests with marble tops are the perfect scale for this master suite.” The guest bedroom will feature an iron headboard styled after an Italian gate, and a hand-painted TV armoire. Clayton says that the kitchen offers top-of-the-line appliances and a working brick oven / stove. Off of the kitchen is a hearth room, furnished with cozy loveseat and chairs, and a view through open doors to the soothing fountain with its tropical flowers and vines. Another special feature of the home is the media room with remote-controlled draperies, fabric covered walls, swivel barrel chairs and a large sofa, all to enhance the viewing of the large-screen TV. Sweet Homebuilders has been the recipient of numerous other prestigious awards for building and design excellence. Most recently, Sweet Homebuilders was selected from entries submitted by Builders, Architects and Designers in 12 Southeastern States to receive the coveted national Aurora Award. Sweet Homebuilders equips its homes with a "Smart House" technology package. Features include a home theater, surround sound, security, central vacuum, and Smart House wiring that allows for computer outlets, telephone, intercom and satellite services, making each Sweet Homebuilders’ home, a home of the future. Resort Interiors, in Destin, Florida, is the largest, full-service home furnishing and design center on the Emerald Coast, offering the top names in furnishings including Thomasville, Henredon, Lexington and Century.
