New Computer Worksite(tm) From Sligh Packs Complete Home Office Into Compact Space

Sligh Furniture Co. has lifted its ground-breaking ComputerCabinet® to another level of innovation with the introduction of the Computer Worksite, an offering that brings new style and function to the category. Sligh's basic concept with its ComputerCabinet is to integrate a hard-working home office within a beautiful armoire. At the end of the day, home office workers can literally fold up their office and conceal it within an armoire that complements their residential decor. The current ComputerCabinet by Sligh includes traditional, transitional and casual contemporary designs - all offer generous work surface, ample filing and storage space, and special features designed to accommodate computer equipment. The same can be said of the company's latest introduction, the new Computer Worksite. Although, this newcomer adds features that have been unheard of until now. "The Computer Cabinet category is a mainstay of our home office lineup, and we want to make sure they're always on the leading edge in terms of style and function," says Jeff Pulver, manager of product development for Sligh. "We continually search for ways to offer home office workers more value from this category." Pullout light above: About 12 inches slimmer than the ComputerCabinet from Sligh, the Computer Worksite is designed for shared-space offices (areas that are sometimes used for other purposes) that don't have much room to spare. The most unusual feature is a light in the upper deck that pulls out to illuminate all areas of the work surface, including the pullout keyboard tray. "The Computer Worksite is properly lit to help you work at your utmost effectiveness," Pulver says. "We kept at the design until we achieved the candle power recommended by commercial office standards at each location on the work surface. The upper deck also includes a tack board and two shelves - one fixed and one adjustable. Dual pullouts below: The most notable aspect of the lower portion is a double pullout - one for an extended work surface and one for a keyboard tray. The first pullout makes the work surface 14 inches deeper along its entire 54-inch length. Just below is another pullout for the keyboard tray, which includes a removable, adjustable palm rest. Adjacent to the keyboard tray on both sides are pullout compact disk storage compartments to keep computer media handy. Aside from providing more work surface, the top pullout also creates a knee space because the base itself is too full of function to allow for one. On the left side is a pullout printer drawer with an adjustable shelf above; on the right is one storage drawer and one file drawer; and in the center is a vertical storage compartment with an adjustable shelf that can be removed to accommodate a vertical computer. The new Computer Worksite also includes a built in surge suppressor and multiple plug receptacle, which includes five electrical outlets, two phone jacks, and a remote switch for turning all computer equipment on at once. Country and traditional styles: When closed, the new Computer Worksite hides all evidence of the workday and masquerades as an armoire. Available in two styles and three finishes, it's sure to blend into any home décor One selection offers American country styling with a sophisticated flair. This casual pine piece features a light pine finish, turned post columns, bun feet, and three panels with raised moldings on each door. The other Computer Worksite is more traditionally styled, with elements including fluted columns topped by square post caps with carved rosettes, egg-and-dart carvings along the crown, bracket feet, and three panels with raised moldings on each door. This style is available in two finishes: a casual cherry or Sligh's Sierra finish - a casual, antique off-white and taupe - which gives the Computer Worksite a Southwestern feel.
