Stanley Furniture has added an accent color finish and two new dining room pieces to Preface, its highly successful lifestyle collection that debuted in October with the name Evolution.
First, a new graphite gray is now available as an accent finish on selected pieces. "The sharp, eye-catching contrast of the graphite with the group's standard caramel finish gives yet another look to this collection, which already sets many different moods with its piece variety," says Kelly Cain, senior vice president of product development and merchandising for Stanley. "The graphite gives the consumer another way to put their personal signature on a Preface ensemble." With satin nickel accents and metal bases on some pieces, and the simplicity of' Shaker influences in others, Preface is almost chameleon-like in its ability to look anywhere from contemporary to transitional to slightly country.
Second, a curio china cabinet and a 48-inch round dining table have been added to the group. "The extensive dining room piece selection of this group already affords considerable flexibility, from both the functional and aesthetic standpoints," Cain says. "These pieces give the consumer two more choices for designing a dining room that captures their entertaining and mealtime styles." It is exactly this designed-for-how-you- live emphasis that has helped make this group so enormously popular at retail, according to Cain.
The collection's name was changed to Preface to avoid confusion when Stanley learned the original name might conflict with the name of another manufacturer.
