Eric Bauer, former president of Bauer Lamps has formed a marketing consulting firm specializing in two distinct areas in the Home Furnishings Industry. On the manufacturing side Bauer is serving as a specialist to assist manufacturers in the areas of Advertising and Public Relations. On the retail side Bauer is offering a series of retail training seminars geared for the retail sales consultant to increase, not only their accessory sales, but also to increase sales and closing percentages. Bauer left the industry nearly two years ago to pursue interests in the Education / Seminar Industry. He was one of the founding members of the Accessories Resource Team (ART), served as its treasurer, president, and chairman and chaired its first Education Committee. He represented accessory companies on the Market Advisory Board for the IHFC, as well as, serving on the Executive Board of the Home Furnishings Council. He was responsible for bringing accessory companies on board to support the HFC and its programs designed to increase the Furniture Industry's share of the consumer's disposable income. Bauer was featured on the HFC television program HAVEN educating consumers about Halogen Lighting and has conducted training seminars at The International Home Furnishings Center, the Dallas Market Center, the Atlanta Merchandise Mart, and countless Design Centers across the nation. He led seminars for consumers and retail sales consultants at retail stores including: Robb & Stucky, Wayside of Milford, CT, Brueners, Capitol Lighting, and Gabberts, to name a few. Since January, 1997 Mr. Bauer has been lecturing for several companies as an independent consultant. His clients have included: Professional Development Inc. of Orlando, FL, Government Careers Centers in NYC and Miami, and the International Guild for Professional Consultants. He also has spoken for corporations such as HealthCare Consultants of America (HCCA) doing motivational and training seminars for their marketing departments. He also assists inventors in obtaining patents, copyrights, and trademarks, as well as, to assist in off shore manufacturing and the marketing of their products. According to Eric Bauer, "I am thrilled to re-enter the home furnishings industry. My goal is to be focused in the areas that I am most knowledgeable and can be the most help to companies." He continues, "the ratio of closing sales at retail leaves a lot to be desired and I know that I can equip people with the tools that they need to increase their percentages.
