N.C. Furnishings Festival Set For August 7-8,1999

"Now that's Entertainment with Design!" It's what thousands will say during North Carolina's Second Annual Furnishings Festival slated for August 7-8. 1999. The two day furnishings spectacular will be centered at SHOWPLACE! in downtown High Point and will encompass many of the landmarks throughout the city. At the heart of the Festival is the celebration of great design and furniture making which North Carolina and High Point are synonymous with. High Point's Furniture Discovery Center, the nation's only museum of furniture design and manufacturing, w ill be at the core of the North Carolina Furnishings Festival's focus on the state's most creative industry. The Center of Learning will be a hands-on, fun-filled destination for Festival-goers to learn more about the artistry and technology of furnishings manufacturing. Hand tying demonstrations, tack spitting. hand carving, upholstery. hand painting, framing, joinery. and finishing exhibits will be scheduled throughout the weekend at the Industry Pride Pavilion for furnishings manufacturers. Entertainment will be woven throughout the beautiful furnishings to add to the festivities. Whether you're looking for jazz, country, rhythm and blues, or children's entertainment you're sure to experience it at the North Carolina Furnishings Festival. Who knows?
