On Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15 phones will be ringing early in the morning in the Los Angeles area when IKEA, the leading home furnishings retailer, wakes its customers up out of bed to the holiday season.
From December 6 to 12, customers who visit the IKEA stores in Burbank, Carson, Tustin and City of Industry can request an "IKEA holiday wake-up call" reminding them to take advantage of the special IKEA early-bird holiday shopping hours. Additionally, IKEA and its customers can help spread the holiday cheer to local area charities. For every IKEA toy that is purchased and donated at any of the participating stores, IKEA will donate a toy from their children's department. All IKEA toy donations will benefit the following organizations: the Burbank Temporary Aid Center (Burbank), Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Carson), Orangewood Children's Home (Tustin) and City of Hope (City of Industry).
Also, the first 50 shoppers in line to take advantage of these shopping hours will receive a free IKEA alarm clock to help them wake up to the holiday season every morning. Free coffee and juice will be available to all early birds, and kids under the age of 12 eat free all weekend at the IKEA restaurant.
"We realize that the holidays can be a hectic time," said Chris Maynard, store manager, IKEA Burbank. "To help our customers get a head start on their shopping, all four of our IKEA stores in the Los Angeles market will open an hour earlier. From great gift ideas to decorations, IKEA can help customers affordably achieve the home of their dreams for the holidays, all while helping to benefit a worthy cause."
IKEA early-bird shopping hours are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on December 14 and on December 15 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers interested in receiving a wake-up call can sign-up at any of the participating stores. Wake-up calls will be made between 6:45 and 7 a.m. on December 14 and 15.
