GERS Announces Executive Promotions, Adds New Sales Vps

GERS Retail Systems, a leading supplier of business solutions for the retail industry, announced new executive promotions, the hiring of a new Vice President of Sales for Hardlines/Big Ticket, the hiring of a new Vice President of Sales for Softlines/Specialty Retail, and the creation of a new position for Vice President of Channel Sales. John Wehrheim was promoted from Vice President of Sales to Senior Vice President of Sales, a new position within the company. In this role, Wehrheim manages all new sales activity for GERS and supervises sales teams and business consultants specializing in Hardlines/Big Ticket and Softlines/Specialty Retail. In addition, Wehrheim will oversee GERS’ client sales activities. He will report to Jim Henderson, President and CEO of GERS. Bill Wortham was hired as Vice President of Sales. In this position, Wortham manages a team of account executives responsible for new systems sales for the Hardlines/Big Ticket markets, including home furnishings, consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive, music & CD, toy & hobby, and office supply. Prior to joining GERS, he worked as Vice President of Sales for G-Log, a software company offering global transportation solutions to large shippers. Wortham has also held sales and sales management positions at J.D. Edwards & Company, Manugistics, and Ross Systems. He will report to Wehrheim. Ernie Johnston was hired as Vice President of Sales, managing a team of account executives responsible for new systems sales for the Softlines/Specialty Retail markets, including apparel, footwear, gift & novelty, housewares, and sporting goods. Previously, Johnston worked as Vice President of Sales for i2 Technologies, a provider of supply chain, customer relationship, and content solutions. Johnston has also held sales positions with PeopleSoft, Manugistics, and Oracle Corporation. He will report to Wehrheim. Steve Pulver was promoted from Director of Client Sales to Vice President of Client Sales. In this newly creation position, Pulver will continue to manage a sales team responsible for all GERS customers, including those representing both Hardlines/Big Ticket and Softlines/Specialty Retail, and will report to Wehrheim. Vicki Noreen moves from Vice President of Sales to the newly created position of Vice President of Channel Sales. Noreen is responsible for developing relationships with targeted third party partners, including consulting firms, hardware/infrastructure companies, and complimentary software vendors. Her duties include the creation of specific channel programs and focused sales strategies to generate additional sales opportunities for GERS and its strategic partners.
