AFMA Elects 2003 Officers

Steven M. Kincaid, president of Kincaid Furniture in Hudson, N.C., was elected president of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association for 2003 during the trade group’s Annual Meeting Nov. 14-17 in Scottsdale, Ariz. Robert Spilman, president and chief executive officer of Bassett Furniture Inds. in Bassett, Va., was elected first vice president, and Rob Sligh, chairman and CEO of Sligh Furniture in Holland, Mich., was elected second vice president. M. Farooq Kathwari, chairman, president and CEO of Ethan Allen in Danbury, Conn., moves to chairman of the board. New members serving on the AFMA Board of Directors for a three-year term are Jerry Birnbach, The Rowe Cos., McLean, Va.; Tom Foy, Lane Furniture Inds., Tupelo, Miss.; Jerry Kiser, La-Z-Boy, Monroe, Mich.; Bruce Lauritsen, Flexsteel Inds., Dubuque, Iowa; Ed Marshall, Orleans Furniture, Columbia, Miss.; Allan Palecek, Palecek, Richmond, Calif.; Buddy Spradlin, Riverside Furniture Corp., Fort Smith, Ark.; Bob Stec, Lexington Home Brands, Lexington, N.C.; Henry Vandenminden, Telescope Casual Furniture, Granville, N.Y.; Taylor Vaughan, Vaughan Furniture Co., Galax, Va.; Todd Wanek, Ashley Furniture Inds., Arcadia, Wis.; Doug Williams, Hooker Furniture Corp., Martinsville, Va.; and Bill Wittenburg, Berkline/Benchcraft, Morristown, Tenn.
