Marvin Silverman Joins Futorian Furnishings

Marvin C. Silverman has joined Futorian Furnishings, Inc., as Director, Corporate Development. He brings more than 45 years of experience in the furniture industry to his new position. "We're very pleased to have someone of Marvin's caliber join us," notes Larry Adelman, President of Futorian. "There's no question he will be a tremendous asset to our team." Silverman most recently was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Vanguard Designs, makers of upholstered and motion furniture. Prior to that position, he was Vice President of Sales for Benchcraft Furniture. Earlier in his career, he also served as Vice President of Sales for Corson Furniture industries and was President of Overman International, a Swedish firm that produced molded styrene furniture. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to participate in the growth of Futorian, which I believe will be a major force in the steep sofa and reclining furniture industry," he said. Silverman will be responsible for business development, focusing primarily on national accounts. He resides in Tupelo, MS with his wife, Joan. Futorian represents furniture brand names that include Simmons Upholstery Hide-A-Bed sleep sofas and stationary sofas, and Stratolounger reclining furniture.
