Bassett Signs Internationally Known Interior Commentator

As part of an on-going effort to enhance the Bassett brand and empower women in their decorative choices, Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc- (NASDAQ: BSET) announced they have signed nationally-known interior design commentator Chris Casson Madden to offer her expertise on home fashion trends, decorating and home furnishings. Ms. Madden is the author of several best selling books, contributing design editor for Ladies Home Journal, host of HGTV's popular show, "Interiors By Design," and frequent contributor to the "Oprah Show," and the "Today Show." The new relationship is the first time Ms. Madden has agreed to work, with a manufacturer.

Plans for the relationship include the development of tools to aid consumers in choosing their own style of interior décor, appearing in stores and advertising and working together with Bassett to provide the right products for today's ,women and home enthusiasts. Women's 'IT Personal Spaces, now in its sixth printing: as well as other best-selling, titles., including Chris Madden's Guide to Personalizing Your Home, Ms. Madden has been published by The New York Times, McCall's Traditional Home, .Metropolitan Horne, New York Magazine and House and Garden, and her weekly newspaper column, "Interiors By Design," is featured in more than 360 newspapers in the Scripps Howard News Service. She has also appeared as design commentator on such popular television shows as "Good Morning America," "Oprah," "CBS This Morning," CNN and more than 100 other television segments on design. Oprah Winfrey described Ms, Madden as her "favorite decorator" and Katie Couric recently introduced her as "designer extraordinaire."
