AFMA AND WMMA DEVELOP COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO MACHINERY SPECIFICATION

In a joint effort between the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA) Manufacturing Division and the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), a comprehensive guide to machinery specification has been produced. The guide was designed to allow the end user to more accurately evaluate competitive proposals for woodworking equipment. The guide also provides a format for equipment- manufacturers to acquire information on the needs of the end user. The booklet guide formats information under specific headings that cover significant aspects of the machinery. Information is obtained about current machinery process, Standard Equipment Requirements, Controls, Mechanical Components, Pneumatics/Hydraulics, Requirements for Machine Functionality, General Specifications (including footprint, weight, dust collection outlets, etc.), and Training and Installation.
