DIAL-A-MATTRESS UNVEILS TWO-AREA MATTRESS SHOWROOMS

Dial-A-Mattress, the nationally-recognized bedding retailer for its toll-free phone number (1-800-MATTRES, leaving off the last S for savings), has added yet another service for Washington-Baltimore area mattress shoppers... showrooms. "A certain niche of the mattress market has told us they would like to sit on and test the mattresses we describe to them on the phone, so we have provided a showroom to make every-one happy," said Adam Kidan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dial-A-Mattress Mid-Atlantic. The two showrooms, located in Beltsville, MD (10235 Southard Drive) and Alexandria, VA (356 South Pickett St.), will display a selection of twin, full, queen and king-size beds. Showroom hours are 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday- Friday, 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Saturday and 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday. At various times, Kidan himself will be on the show floor dealing face-to-face with the customers. "We are the only mattress specialty store in town that offers a choice of the three major brands, Serta, Sealy and Simmons," added Kidan. The Beltsville location operates a 2,500 square foot showroom and is part of a new 25,000 square foot office building for Dial-A-Mattress. The mattress warehouse takes up 20,000 square feet and holds more than 2,000 mattresses. The remaining 2,500 square feet is used for office space by the 60 company employees. The Alexandria, VA warehouse is 6,000 square feet and thus, the largest mattress showroom in Northern Virginia.
